Cluster interconnection and architecture

This configuration will allow us to connect the IBM high performance switch hardware to commodity clusters with graphics support and show how this combination enhances the acquistion of scientific results and understanding of those results. It will in particular enable the switch to cluster connectivity and permit comparisons to establish the best network connections.

• Optimization and tuning of applications for these machines
• Support the porting and testing of PESSL for Linux cluster
• Studying connections of clusters and clusters with SP2-class machines. What experience in scientific and engineering arena is relevant to the commercial arena?
