This page lists planned maintenance and service interruptions that may affect CARC users. Details may change as work progresses; check back before a planned maintenance window.

Scheduled maintenance

CARC system updates

December 2-3, 2026

CARC systems will be unavailable for two days while servers are updated. Services are expected to be restored by the end of Thursday, December 3.

Easley cooling-system repairs

October 14-15, 2026

Half of the Easley compute nodes will be unavailable while we perform repairs on the cooling system.

Firewall upgrade

September 28th Starting at 3:00pm – September 30th, 2026

Expect frequent and prolonged interruptions to network traffic to and from CARC throughout the maintenance period. This will affect SSH logins, Open OnDemand, the CARC Help Desk ticket system, ColdFront, and other network-dependent services.
