CARC Coronavirus (COVID-19) information

UPDATED 7/1/2020

The University of New Mexico’s Center for Advanced Research Computing will continue to operate on a work-from-home basis effective March 16, 2020. We have temporarily taken some of Wheeler's 304 compute nodes offline, along with some of Gibbs, Xena, and Taos, due to cooling issues in the main machine room. See Downtime Notices for the latest information.

Only designated CARC systems staff are permitted to enter the building; it is closed at this time to everyone else, including resident researchers and all students. We are in the process of developing Phase 1 reintroduction requests for critical research, which are subject to change based on UNM and state orders. Please email CARC Business Manager Tracy Wenzl if you require access to the building.

Walk-in office hours for technical support will be held via Zoom during the usual hours on Tuesdays, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. and Wednesdays, 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. To make an appointment, please email Dr. Matthew Fricke

Technical staff continue to monitor systems and help tickets. If you are experiencing a technical issue, please submit a ticket here or email help@carc.unm.edu for further assistance. We also have tutorials and user support documentation available on our Github site.

You can visit the UNM Coronavirus (COVID-19) information web page for more information about UNM's current operational status.

We will continue to post any updates here.
