SMILab hosts webinar on smart structures technologies
The Smart Management of Infrastructure Laboratory (SMILab), located at the Center for Advanced Research Computing, will be hosting a free Zoom webinar for students and industry professionals on July 9th from 10AM to 12PM mountain time. The workshop will update attendees on the latest developments in smart structures technologies with a series of brief presentations. Topics covered will include wireless sensing technologies, augmented reality, computer vision, non-linear dynamics, point-cloud analysis, and artificial intelligence. One webinar attendee will be randomly selected to receive a free drone.
The SMILab is a research group, led by Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering Fernando Moreu, that focuses on using cutting-edge technology to monitor and improve infrastructure. Their research has explored wireless smart sensing, structural health monitoring, cost-effective prioritization of assets, augmented reality, structural modeling and validation, existing structure field monitoring and assessment, and laboratory testing and validation of structural systems under dynamic loading.
To RSVP for the webinar and to enter your name for a chance to win a free drone, please email Roya Nasimi or Jiaqi Xu by July 8th. For more information, visit the SMILab website. Join the Zoom meeting here.
