RMACC Symposium May 21-23
Registration is now open for the 2019 RMACC Symposium. Join us in Boulder, CO May 21-23 at the Wolf Law School. The University of New Mexico Center for Advanced Research Computing is a member of the RMACC.
The event is open to the public and will be held at the Wolf Law Building on CU Boulder’s main campus.
This year's keynote speakers are Jeffrey Vetter from Oakridge National Laboratory who will be speaking about "Preparing for Extreme Heterogeneity in High Performance Computing" and Allen Newton from Vanderbilt University who will be speaking about "Big Data and the principals of analyzing imaging data in the research space".
In addition to the Keynote Speakers, the RMACC Symposium features a wide array of speakers, panel discussions and tutorial sessions from industry and educational leaders. This year’s event has four main tracks: Software (User Facing); Machine Learning/Big Data; System Administration; and High Performance Computing.
This year's program features many interesting sessions including a half day training on the Emotional Intelligence, technical sessions on a variety of topics from containers to machine learning, tutorials for beginners and advanced users, and a series of tutorials on the Fundamentals of fMRI. The RMACC Symposium also features a student poster competition for any interested student. Winners will receive an all-expense paid trip to either PEARC19 in Chicago, IL or SC19 conference in Denver, CO. The Poster Competition is for graduate and undergraduate students interested in high performance computing. This competition enables students to share the results of projects that they have performed, while also engaging in a competition for the best poster. One of the leading HPC regional events, the Symposium brings together faculty, researchers, industry leaders and students from throughout the Intermountain Region.
The general registration fee (which includes parking, all materials, meals and breaks) is $175. Support from industry sponsors reduces registration fees for students (graduate and undergraduate) to $35. Postdocs can register for $95, and a Thursday “tutorials only” option is available for $110. Student scholarships to help cover registration fees and travel costs also are available.
